Professor Steve Hutchinson awarded Senior IRH Fellowship

Professor Steve Hutchinson has been awarded a four-year Senior Fellowship at the Institute for Research in the Humanities for four years beginning in Fall 2016, during which time he will do research on his winning project, titled “Imagining Africa: Early Modern Iberian Textual Cartographies.” IRH Senior Fellowships are awarded for innovative research in the humanities, and carry four semesters of leave from teaching over a two-year period. During the past year, Professors Hutchinson and Mercedes Alcalá-Galán received invitations from seven countries on four continents to speak at conferences commemorating the 400th anniversary of the death of Cervantes.
