What have you done since graduating from UW-Madison?: 

I teach Spanish Language and Literature, with a focus on the Middle Ages and Early Modern Spain, at Beloit College.  Every day, I share my personal love for languages, literature, history, art, music, and the humanities with my students.

What motivated you to study this/these languages?: 

I was always fascinated by other languages and cultures, and wanted to be able to live abroad!

How have these languages enriched your life?: 

It opened the door to fabulous worlds!

What do you remember about your UW language classes? How were they different from other classes you took?: 

Amazing professors!

How valuable were your out-of-classroom experiences?: 

The best part of learning a foreign language is being able to travel and live abroad, connect with people from around the world, and establish meaningful relationships.  

How have you maintained or improved your language(s) since graduation?: 

Living abroad, traveling, and speaking the language every day.

What advice do you have for current language students?: 

Speak it! Own it!

What is your favorite word or phrase in a language you know?: 
No digo que no, pero no lo veo!
