Megan is a PhD candidate in Latin American Literature and a Teaching Assistant. Her research interests center on embodied explorations of labor in migration in contemporary Caribbean theater, performance art and literature. Her dissertation, “In the Hold: Precarious Aesthetics and Resistance in Contemporary Caribbean Performances of Migration,” explores how Puerto Rican and Dominican theater and performance represent and interrogate migrant labor in a neoliberal and post-La carreta era. Her areas of interest include Modern and Contemporary Latin American Literature, Theater and Performance, Caribbean Studies, Border Studies, and Latin@ Studies.
