Oscar Almonte García is a Master’s student of Spanish Linguistics and a Spanish TA at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. This year, he is serving as one of the two DEIBC representatives for Spanish and Portuguese graduate students. He graduated from Millikin University with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and has obtained an Associate of Arts in Spanish and French, along with an Associate of Science in biology from the College of DuPage. His research interests include bilingualism, heritage Spanish speakers, applied linguistics, and sociolinguistics and identity. In his free time, Oscar enjoys language learning in French, Italian, and Japanese in addition to his Spanish and English endeavors.
