Levi Cross is a PhD student of Portuguese studying contemporary Brazilian literature and culture. He is currently a Teaching Assistant for Portuguese 301: Intensive Portuguese, and has taught other Portuguese language classes (Portuguese 101 and 102) and Latin American, Caribbean and Iberian Studies: Introduction to Latin America (LACIS 260). He holds an MA in Portuguese from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (2020). He earned a BS degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (2018) with a double major in Portuguese and Latin American, Caribbean and Iberian Studies. He is an Editorial Assistant for the Luso-Brazilian Review and works in the Department of Gender and Women’s studies as a grader for GWS 340: Queer & Trans Cinema. His research interests include: Contemporary Brazilian Literature and Culture, Transatlantic Studies, Gender and Queer Studies, Disability Studies, and Visual Culture.
