Jan Díaz Hernández is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Spanish with a concentration in Literature. She completed her BA at the College of Idaho, where she majored in Spanish, International Political Economy, and Marketing & Digital Media, with minor in Natural Sciences and a specialization in Latin American Studies. Jan also holds a Master’s in International Business from ADEN University in Panamá.

Originally from Puntarenas, Costa Rica, Jan is a proud alumna of UWC Costa Rica. Her professional experience is diverse, including roles as an Advocate for Survivors of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault, Teen and Family Program Director, Teaching Assistant at an elementary school, and Spanish Tutor. Her multifaceted background highlights her dedication to both education and social advocacy.

Jan’s research interests are broad, encompassing Queer Studies, Gender Studies, Indigenous and Latin American Studies, and Political Economy. Her passion for these fields reflects her commitment to exploring complex cultural, social, and economic issues.
