Enrique Larrea is PhD candidate in the Department of Spanish & Portuguese at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is currently working on his doctoral thesis: Las batallas por la memoria: representaciones conflictivas del Otro en la posmemoria del conflicto armado peruano. His research interests focus on the following areas: 20th-century Spanish-American literature, Latin American politics and literature, narratives of violence in literature, and conflict and memory. He has contributed with a chapter in the book La mudos hablan about the Peruvian writer Julio Ramón Ribeyro, published by the Academia Peruana de la Lengua. Additionally, he obtained a master’s degree in advanced studies of Spanish and Latin American Literature from the Universidad de Barcelona.
