Biography

Sabina is a PhD candidate focusing on contemporary Latin American Theatre and Performance. She holds a BA in Spanish from Siena College and an MA from New York University in Spanish and Latin American Literary and Cultural studies. Her dissertation examines how 21st century Mexican and Chicanx theatre and performance respond to and resist somatic vulnerabilities and the affective responses that the embodied practices produce. She participates in theatre productions at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and as the former director of Teatro Décimo Piso, she directed Javier Daulte’s Criminal in 2023. She also received the 2022 Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad Fellowship for her project titled Resonating Resistance: The Body in Contemporary Mexican Theatre and Performance.
