Biography

Florencia is a PhD candidate in Spanish Linguistics, with a minor in English Language and Linguistics, at UW-Madison. Before starting this program, she earned a BA in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) at Universidad Nacional de Cuyo in her hometown of Mendoza, Argentina, in 2001. She also obtained an MA in Linguistics, with a minor in Spanish, at West Virginia University in 2016.
Her main areas of research interest include sociolinguistics, language contact, lexical change, and bilingual speakers’ expression of identity.
