Hola, ¿qué tal? My name is Estefanía Galindo, and I am from Barranquilla, Colombia. I am a PhD Candidate in Spanish Linguistics. I am a Ph.D. student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison with the Department of Spanish and Portuguese. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Biology and Spanish from St. Norbert College, and I studied abroad in Toledo, Spain in the Fall of 2018. I found an amazing community in El Ejido, Spain where I moved to and lived in 2019-2020. I taught as an English as a second language teacher to people of all ages, from children in primary school to private lessons with adults. This inspired me to get my Master’s in Spanish linguistics, which I graduated from in 2022. Ever since this experience of immense learning, my Spanish has been a token of my daily life: reading, speaking with friends, watching series, in my cuisine and in my
