Please join the Department of Spanish & Portuguese in congratulating undergraduate Spanish major Anna Schiessl on her Foreign Language & Area Studies (FLAS) Fellowship. FLAS fellowships assist students in the acquisition of foreign language and either area or international studies competencies and are available only for specific languages. Summer fellowship awards, like the one awarded to Anna, are for either domestic or abroad intensive language programs. Anna will continue studying Arabic through the Middle Eastern and Mediterranean Language Institute this summer and is very excited to get started.
