How do institutional archives preserve lives? What does it mean to archive Latinx activisms? What kind of stories do Latinx archives tell us? In this informal conversation, we will discuss the experience of archiving Latinx-related materials with experts Andrea Arenas (Wisconsin Latinx History Collective), Katie Nash (UW Archives), and Melina Mueller (WLHC and Wisconsin Institute for Discovery). Please, sign up in the following link, as there are limited seats. Refreshments will be provided.

This event is co-organized with the Wisconsin Latinx History Collective, the Phi Alpha Theta National History Honor Society, and the Spanish and Portuguese Department. The “Archives in the Americas” Borghesi-Mellon Workshop is a part of the Borghesi-Mellon Interdisciplinary Workshops in the Humanities, sponsored by the Center for the Humanities at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, with support from Nancy and David Borghesi and the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
