We will be hosting Maya activist and writer, Bernardo Caamal (el Arux) and his daughter Inaytah on UW, campus. They co-wrote together a book about the history and resistance of their community that they will present on March 5th at noon in LACIS Lunchtime series in Ingraham 206 (This event is hybrid so zoom is possible if you are interested and cannot come).

El Arux, the name adopted by Bernardo Caamal, means a little gnome defending Maya milpa and forest from unwanted intruders. Almost all Mayas in Yucatan know him.
